When you need a structural engineering report
There are four common reasons Sydney property owners and buyers come to us for a structural report: a pre-purchase inspection during cooling-off, a council request for evidence of structural adequacy, an insurance claim after damage, or a renovation that needs an engineer's sign-off before it goes any further.
In every case the document needs to be signed by a registered structural engineer — not a generalist building inspector — for council, the insurer, or the conveyancer to accept it.
