How long does a DA take in Sydney?

For straightforward residential work, 6–12 weeks once lodged. We design knowing what each council needs to avoid the back-and-forth that pushes that to 4–6 months.

Do I need a DA or a CDC?

A CDC (Complying Development Certificate) is faster — often approved in 21 days — but only available if your project meets specific rules. A DA (Development Application) goes to council and takes longer but covers anything outside the rules. Our free DA vs CDC checker tells you which one in 90 seconds.

How much does it cost to get a granny flat, duplex or knockdown rebuild approved?

Design + engineering + approval typically ranges from a few thousand to tens of thousands depending on size and complexity. We give you a fixed quote at the free site visit so there are no surprises.

Do you handle the certifier and council, or do I?

We do. Lodging, responding to RFIs, organising private certification — all included in our fixed fee.

What if council rejects my design?

We've never had one rejected. If we ever did, we'd redesign and re-lodge at no cost — that's the upside of having engineering, design and certification on one team.
